About us

Carnoustie Camera Club was formed in 1961 and we aim to encourage interest in photography by way of talks, exhibitions, competitions, workshops and excursions. Our members meet socially to share skills and ideas, and we participate in internal and external competitions in order to find inspiration and hone our photographic skills.

Members have a wide range of experience and there is a warm welcome for people of all abilities and photographic interests.

We meet mostly every other Friday 7.30-9.30pm between August and April in the Comrie Hall on Links Avenue, Carnoustie, and we get together regularly during other months and at weekends.

50 years of Club Photography

We will resume club activities on Friday 2nd of September at Comrie Hall in Carnoustie from 7.30pm . The Club will celebrate 50 years of providing support and photographic enjoyment with a series of special events and speakers reflecting on the dramatic changes in photography since the 1960's. Existing and new members will have the opportunity to explore techniques all within an atmosphere of friendly advice so that their photography can reach higher levels of satisfaction. New members will be allocated mentor support and all levels of ability should find their membership beneficial. Membership fees for this anniversary year have been held at the rate of £25 and enrolling on the 2nd allows for personal interests to be included in this celebratory programme.

Everyone is most welcome.

We offer:

  • Regular club meetings and occasional field trips
  • Talks from visiting photographers
  • Practical sessions
  • An annual exhibition of members' work
  • Digital darkroom facilities
  • Friendly help, advice and discussions
  • Photographic competitions with feedback
