Find out more about Carnoustie Camera Club
Carnoustie Camera Club was formed in 1961 and we aim to encourage interest in photography by way of talks, exhibitions, competitions, workshops and excursions. Our members meet socially to share skills, ideas and we participate in internal and external competitions in order to find inspiration and hone our photographic skills.
The club is informal and welcomes people of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels. Learn to get that camera off of the automatic settings, start taking control and create images that you did not think were possible. Push yourself in the competitions and get work published!

Guest speakers are regularly invited to the club to give talks on photographic subjects and to provide training. Most of our competitions are also judged anonymously by external judges who will also provide feedback where possible. Find out more.Click

Richard is an avid photographer who was trained on Nikon film and later digital systems. His preferred subjects are portraits and wildlife, however he has also found himself shooting landscapes, scenes of crime, press photography and has photographed many weddings. In addition to his photographic endeavors he also created and maintains the club website.
John has recently taken over as Vice President after being the Club Treasurer for the past ten years and a member for a lot longer! John's photographic interests are trains, boats, planes, buses, cars and history. He still has a SLR film camera but is now attracted to digital, especially video, with the potential to show movement and sound. He says "The enjoyment of photography or the frustration of it, is that you are always learning and developing - there is no end to the skill and interest, if you want to say "I now know it all" you will be disappointed!" I am pleased that members find the club to be of value year after year and it seems to move forward with new members as they grow their skills.
The post of Club Secretary is currently vacant.
I have been interested in photography for many years and enjoy taking wildlife and landscape pictures. I try to tell a story with my wildlife shots and enjoy the challenge of taking wildlife in its environment. One advantage of this is that it requires very little post processing to create the finished image. Most of my landscapes are captured during holidays and I love sunrise and sunsets which bring an amazing quality of light. I have recently taken over as Treasurer of the Club I look forward to a successful year for members and visitors.
